First Steps Pre-School staff put strong emphasis on partnership with parents, recognising that you, the parents, are the child's first educators.

The Pre-School offers a natural progression in your child's development from our Toddler and 2 Year Old Programme facilities.
Children in First Steps Pre-School are introduced to the curriculum laid down by the Department of Education consisting of the following six areas of learning:-

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Language Development
  • Early Mathematical Experiences
  • Physical Development and Movement
  • The Arts
  • The World Around Us.

Each child will be allocated a "Key Worker" and this member of staff is responsible for all records kept on your child i.e. progress, planning of individual needs, compiling three progress reports etc.

Parent/Key Worker interviews take place in October, March and June at a pre-arranged time suitable to parents.

Details of the Pre-School daily routine and other information is available to read or download from the "Information" section on our website. Just click on "Pre-School Points for Parents"
